Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if you don’t take my insurance?

There are a couple of options to make therapy affordable! I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance. I also work off a sliding scale to ensure therapy can fit into your weekly budget.

How to ask insurance if they accept superbills?

Call your insurance: “Hi, I’m receiving out-of-network therapy services and my therapist provides a superbill. I’d like to know if my plan allows for reimbursement using a superbill.

Can you tell me:

  1. If my plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits?

  2. What documentation you need to process a reimbursement?

  3. What percentage is reimbursed and if there’s a deductible?

  4. Where and how I can submit the superbill?”

How far will you travel for walk & talk therapy?

I am always happy to try new locations within a 10 mile radius of my office. If there is a location outside of this circle, we can discuss how to make it feasible.

What is your cancellation policy?

To respect both your time and mine, I kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session.

Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice — or missed appointments — will incur a $50 fee.

This policy allows me to offer that time to other clients who may be waiting for an appointment. Thank you for your understanding and commitment to the therapeutic process.

What happens if I have an issue with billing?

I use a secure, HIPAA-compliant third-party platform to manage all billing and payment processing. If you experience any billing errors or have questions about charges, I’ll be happy to refer you to their dedicated support team, who can best assist with resolving the issue promptly.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need help getting in touch with them.

How can I contact you outside of sessions?

Please note that I typically respond to non-urgent messages within 24–48 business hours. I do not provide crisis or emergency services via phone, email, or text.

If you are in crisis or need immediate support, please use one of the following resources:

  • Call 911 – For emergencies or if you are in immediate danger

  • Maricopa County Crisis Line – 📞 602-222-9444 (24/7 support)

  • National Suicide & Crisis Lifeline – 📞 988 (Call or text, 24/7, free and confidential)

Your safety and well-being are important — please reach out to the appropriate services when urgent help is needed.

What happens in our first session?

The first session is focused on getting to know you — your concerns, goals, and what brings you to therapy. We'll review your intake forms, discuss your history, and begin to build a foundation for our work together.
